‘Thanks a lot for organising Tuesday’s meet-up!  I had a great time and met some fun people and learnt a bunch. Would love to attend the next time.’ – J.W., London

Events for magicians in Central London.

In an age of Instagram and YouTube magic, a SpeedMagic event is a chance for close-up magicians to gain confidence and competence in live performing. Unlike a magicians’ convention, magic-club meeting or card session, a SpeedMagic event is primarily aimed at gaining live performing experience.

‘Thank you soo much for organising everything and helping it run so smoothly. I had the most amazing evening, I still can’t stop smiling. Thank you so much.’ – J.I. – London

Borrowing the format from speed dating, at a SpeedMagic event you sit opposite a fellow magician for roughly 10 minutes, which allows time for you both to show each other tricks and receive constructive criticism and feedback.

After 10 minutes you move down one table and repeat the exercise with the next magician. By the end of the evening (usually 2 hours, with breaks) you will have rehearsed your material lots of times and should have the confidence and experience to start performing in the ‘real world’.

‘I just wanted to extend my gratitude to you for organising this meet up. This was my first and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great to get honest feedback and to get out of my comfort zone and meet other magicians, both seasoned pros and novices like me. I found it extremely beneficial and sincerely hope there are many more in the New Year.’ – L.W. – London
Most events have themes such as bar magic, table magic, and different environments to help students gain experience
